Healthy Habits 101



Gain Control of your Eating Behaviours - A busy lifestyle can make for erratic eating.  Having the structure of a menu with portion controlled cuisine can create order in the midst of a hectic life.

Reduce your risk of overeating  - People tend to eat what they’re served. One benefit of portion-controlled foods is their built in start and stop feature.  ((So no buffet style, one plate of mainly veggies, makes for a great choice.)) When you have finished the portion, you’ve finished the meal sand can walk away free of extra calories.

Reduce your stress -  When you’re trying to lose weight, it can take a lot of mental energy to make healthier choices. Menu planning and meal prep help with having a better options and can lift the load off your mind and leave you empowered.

Indulge Safely in your favourite foods -  Are there certain foods you avoid when you are trying to lose weight? Pancakes, pasta and cheesecake… Learn how to enjoy healthier versions of your favourite foods. ((like oatcakes, see recipe below)) and enjoy with portion control. 

Maintain Calorie Consistency for Weight Loss. -  Huge portions and hidden calories have become the norm in our culture. Take out the long-term leg work of weighing, counting, measuring - if you are still getting results, continue with ballpark measurements. To lose weight, be sure to measure and track www.asksonya.ca or myfitnesspal, track once be specific and save it for future use.

Retrain your plate - Explore unique flavours and new foods that are delicious, weight loss friendly and good for you too. Plus, get accustomed to eating a variety of fresh, or frozen fruits and vegetables every day for a lifetime of healthy eating.

Stay focused - Do people, places and things influence your food choices? Sights and smells of tempting foods are everywhere! Having a pre-planned menu can help you tune out external distractions and tune you into your ultimate goal

Enjoy an edible teaching tool - Apply some or all of these healthy habits.
You can see, taste and learn from new foods, creative combinations, a different mindset, on-going coaching and accountability. Yours Truly  Experience what healthy eating and portion control look and feel like to help you build healthy habits, one meal at a time.  As you continue on your journey, don’t forget to include those non-food rewards (((more on that later )))


Oatcakes
1/3cups of rolled oats
2 eggs, raw
1 banana
Add - cinnamon, and chai /flax seeds

Mix together
Cook like pancakes in a frying pan or flat top griddle
