You can pause and let the temptation or emotion fade. A little distraction such as walking the dog, knitting, a phone call or a even a drive can help redirect your thoughts from temptation and keep you on track with your fitness or weight loss goal. Try putting the fork down and pausing after 20 minutes of eating. 20 minutes is long enough to determine if your are full and will prevent you from over eating. Pausing during exercise is critical too. This little break helps you catch your breath, reflect on your accomplishments, and focus on form.
